LUNA -- Margarita Luna, 89, of Mountainair, NM passed away on Thursday May 1, 2008 in Los Lunas, NM. Margarita was born October 17, 1918 to Gregorio and Francisquita (Serna) Lovato in Red Canyon, NM. Margarita was a lifelong resident of Mountainair and was a member of the St. Alice Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart League. Margarita was preceded in death by her parents; husband Guadelupe Luna; daughter Bernice Luna; Granddaughter Valerie Garcia; sister Josefita Chavez; and brother Benito Lovato. She is survived by sons, Arturo Luna; Felipe Luna; Jerry Luna; Henry Luna all of Mountainair; Roger Luna of Bosque, NM; Greg Luna of Belen, NM; David Luna of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Rosemary Alderete of Mountainair, NM; Josephine Potter of Belen, NM; Carla A. Lente of Belen, NM; sister, Clarinda Chavez of California; 24 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A viewing will be held Monday, May 5, 2008 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Mountainair, NM. A rosary will be recited Monday, May 5, 2008 7:00 p.m. at St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM. A Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM. Father Ron Stone will be officiating. Interment will follow at the La Cienaga Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lawrence Garcia, Pat DeLeon, Justin Luna, Aaron Luna, David Luna, Christopher Anaya, Alex Garcia, Ben Luna, John Luna and Arty Luna.
