HAUER -- Margaret Hauer passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 17, 2008. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Peggy joined her family in a move to Albuquerque where she spent most of her life. Among those who loved and will miss her, she leaves behind a son, James Valencia; brothers, Bill Hauer, Albert Hauer, and Tom Hauer; and sisters, Betty Hauer and Vicki Anderson. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces to whom she was a loving and generous aunt. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Hilda Hauer. Peggy graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1984 with a degree in Communicative Disorders. Devoted to raising her son, Jimmy, and dedicated in all endeavors, she served her country in civilian positions at Kirtland Air Force Base and for Sandia National Laboratories where her generosity and kind treatment of others endeared her to many coworkers and created many lasting friendships. Peggy was an enthusiastic walker and hiker and enjoyed New Mexico's nature. She was a special woman who will be greatly missed. In her valiant struggle with cancer, she taught many people how to live with courage and grace.
