GUTIERREZ -- Irene Gutierrez, an Albuquerque resident for 54 years, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2008 at the age of 83. She was born October 19, 1924 to Francisco and Inez Gonzales in Lamy, New Mexico. Irene was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. She babysat her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Irene was a great tortilla maker who loved her family and spoiled her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Gutierrez and son, Antonio Gutierrez Jr. She is survived by her children, Connie Ayala, Lucy Gutierrez, Sylvia Nunez, Richard Gutierrez and wife Veronica, and Gina McNelly and husband John, her siblings; Emma Esquibel, Gloria Vigil, Cecilia Garcia, Joe Gonzales, and Marylyn Montoya. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Irene will be greatly missed by her loving family. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the 8th Street Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Garcia Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
