VELARDE -- Mary Sena Velarde, age 81, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. Mary was born in Fort Sumner, NM on January 31, 1927 to Mr. and Mrs. Pedro Sena of Fort Sumner. Mrs. Velarde was preceded in death by her son, Harold Velarde and two brothers, Charlie and Pete Sena. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Paul Velarde; ten children, Bernice Martinez, Dolores Velarde, Judy Caruso and husband, Mark, Alma Terrazas, Gary Velarde, Wanda Garcia, Elizabeth Zawahri and husband, Abdul, Christine Gonzales, Joseph Velarde, Bernadette Terrazas and husband, Juan; three sisters, Dora Aragon, Delia Gutierrez and Josie Baca; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Velarde will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Church. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 29, 2008 also at San Jose Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Tommy Velarde, J.J.
