SCHMALTZ -- Katie Schmaltz, age 88, passed away on January 13, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on September 15, 1919 to George and Rose Komadina in Dawson, NM. Katie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved and cherished all her family and friends. She had a passion for dancing and music and just enjoyed life in general. She also came from a large family of ten siblings. Katie is survived by her four children; three sons: Ron Schmaltz and wife, Jan-Michele, Daryl Schmaltz and wife, Arlis, Dale Schmaltz and wife, Inez; and one daughter; Yvonne Dockter and husband, Craig. She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Katie is also survived by two sisters, Rose Komadina and Dotty Walker. Katie was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Schmaltz. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.; French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel with Deacon Ken Trujillo officiating.
