PHILLIPS -- Vivian Rose Vivian Rose Phillips, 87, peacefully entered into rest on Friday, January 11, 2008, at Vista Oaks Assisted Living in Austin, TX. Born Vivian Rose Alston on August 12, 1920 in Tyler, TX, she was one of three duaghters born to Horace and Onie (Barnes) Alston. She married Marvin W. "Boobie" Allen in Tyler, TX in 1939, and they reared two beautiful daughters, Linda Gay Rex and Janice Hill. Vivian worked in auto sales, retail grocery and bookkeeping until retirement. After her first husband's death, she married Harmon S. Phillips in 1976. She and Harmon lived in Tyler, TX; New Port Richie, FL; and lastly in Marble Falls, TX. They traveled extensively around the country as members of volunteer church builder ministries. They loved to camp, fish, travel, and garden. Harmon preceded her in death in 2003. They were members of of the First Assembly of God church in Marble Falls. Vivian's favorite activity, prior to her extended illness, was preparing dishes to take to church functions. Vivian loved her family and friends. She loved the staff at Vista Oaks where she lived the last two years. She considered them all to be dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Onie Alston; her first husband Marvin Allen; her last husband Harmon Phillips; her sisters Mary Lewis of Greens Bayou and Frances Herndon of Kilgore, TX; her daughters Linda Gay Rex and Janice Hill both of Oklahoma City, OK. She is survived by step-sons and daughters-in-law Harold L. and Johnetta Phillips of Palm Harbor, Florida; Danny C. and Sunny Phillips of Dripping Springs, Texas; grandchildren Gary Rex, Stephen Rex, Thomas Phillips, Elizabeth Montesi, Cohen Van Court, Joshua Phillips and Salem Phillips; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at the Marble Falls City Cemetery, Marble Falls, Texas, with Reverend Kenneth Womack officiating.
