ORTEGA -- Maria Dolores Duran Ortega, born December 15, 1925, matriarch of one of the founding families of Albuquerque, Duran Ortega, lifelong resident, author, historian, volunteer, passed away January 12, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. Ortega, and father, Ignacio G. Duran. Mrs. Ortega is survived by her 98 year-old mother, Laura Duran; five children, Anthony R. Gonzales, Frank I. Ortega and wife, Nancy, Enriquez "Hank" Ortega and wife, Angie, Loretta A. Garcia and husband, Tom, and Rosarita D. Archuleta and husband, Anthony; grandchildren, Tanya Gonzales, Felicia Vigil, Olivia Jimenez and husband, Sean, Francisco Ortega, J.T. Garcia, Jacob Baca, Manuel Ortega, Andrea Archuleta-Mohan and husband, Raaj, Renee Garcia, Delilah Ortega, Aaron Archuleta and Francine Guerra; great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Gonzales, Justin Barros, April Gonzales, Joshua Ortega, Brook Jimenez, Ezequiel Mascarenas, and Sean Jimenez. A Rosary for Mrs. Ortega will be recited on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Francisco Ortega, J.T. Garcia, Manuel Ortega, Aaron Archuleta, Theodore Ortega and Robert Louie. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Jimenez, Roy Dominguez, Raaj Mohan and her grandchildren.
