MONTOYA -- Joseph A., age 37, of Albuquerque, NM passed away Friday January 11, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born on July 15, 1970 in Torrance, CA to Jose and Caroline Montoya. He married Melissa Hanson on June 9, 2001 in Albuquerque, NM. Joe was currently employed as a Sous Chef for the University of New Mexico for the past 11 years and enjoyed making ice sculptures. He preferred being in the out of doors, hunting and fishing. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Joe had a big heart and often volunteered to help his family, friends, neighbors, and community organizations, such as Carrie Tingley Children's Cancer Center and Project Share. Surviving are his wife of six years Melissa; his parents, Jose and Carol Montoya; his brothers, Chuck Montoya and Ed Montoya and many numerous loving relatives and friends. Memorial Services for Joe will be held Thursday, January 17, 2008, 6:00 p.m., at French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel.
