CARNETT -- Virginia L. Carnett, 90, passed away on January 8, 2008. Mrs. Carnett was born on November 19, 1917 in Kansas City, MO to Ivan and Virgie Downing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Carnett, who passed away in 1995. Mrs. Carnett served as Director of the Westport School in Los Angeles, CA where she pioneered new therapies for developmentally challenged children. She is survived by her children, Dan Carnett and wife, Peggy of Albuquerque and Vicky Stanley and husband, Ken of Pensacola, Florida; four grandchildren, Jonathan Carnett, Alayna Weir, Jeffrey Stanley and Amanda Stanley. A Graveside Service will be held at the Red River Cemetery, in Red River, NM on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008
