CURRAN -- John N. Curran, age 88, a resident of Rio Communities, NM, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007. He was a member of The Catholic Church. John was owner operator of Curran Dairy, located 1 mile north of the Belen Bridge from 1967 to 1979. He sold the dairy to his son James and moved to San Antonio, NM where he farmed up until 1984. He and his wife, Ruby retired to Rio Communities in Belen. Upon Ruby's death in 1989 John moved to Lewiston, CA, to be near his son, James and his family. Both families then moved to Loma, CO, in 1998. He returned to Rio Communities in 2004. He proudly served in the U.S. army during WWII in both the North African and Italian campaigns. John also had a career in the oil industry as a refinery manager in both Iraq and Kuwait. He was born in Wildcat, CA to the late Patrick and Gussie Curran in 1919. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby in 1989, and one son, who was killed in action during the Vietnam conflict, John D. Curran, 1971. He is also proceeded in death by his three brothers and one sister, all of California. John is survived by his son, James and his wife, Cyndi of Belen; four loving grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his caregiver of 19 years, Tanya Clark of Belen. He is also survived by Pilar Hageman, Jon Hageman, and Erica Bisch. There will be a gathering of family friends at Romero Funeral Home, on Monday, November 26, 2007 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, on Tuesday, November, 27,2007 at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Pete McCatharn, Leon Othart, Paul Moya, Jon Hageman, Chris and Corey Curran and Darrin Jones.
