HARRIS -- Robert Nathaniel Harris, of Albuquerque and formerly of Farmington, died October 15, 2007. He was 87. He was the son of Charles Malcolm Harris and Myrtle Stalder. He was born near Limon, CO, and grew up in Omaha, then Denver. During World War II, he was a Marine pilot who saw action in the South Pacific. He was in insurance and real estate, then was in oil and gas. He helped build a system of Beeline gas stations from Dalhart, TX, to Kingman, AZ, and into Utah and Colorado. He operated the first marina on Navajo Lake and worked for Utah International Company at the Navajo Mines near Farmington as stockroom manager and the plant's first statistician. He was Exalted Ruler of the Elks. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Roberta Minor Harris; daughters, Sue Ashcraft of Arboles, CO, Pat Wilson of Chattanooga, TN, and Jean Bryant, of Tijeras, NM; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nephews, Kay Havenor, Gibson Minor; nieces, Carol Bitz and Elise Novella; sister-in-law, Lois Bazilchuk; and sister-in-law, Veronica Minor. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 4710 Juan Tabo NE, Albuquerque, with Dr. Gary Hamburger presiding. Memorials should be made to the church mission fund. Arrangements are by French Mortuary.
