CHACON -- Joseph O. Chacon of Albuquerque died August 18, 2007 and God opened up His arms and walked him into Heaven. He was born January 7, 1964 and lived 43 years with down syndrome, but died of conjestive heart failure. He graduated from Manzano side-by-side High School in 1985. He was the loving son of Cora J. McGrath of Albuquerque. Other survivors include his father, Joe O. Chacon of Arizona; sister, Laurie L. "Fat Man" Goers; great-nephew, Jayden Joseph Hecox; brother-in-law, David A. "Monkey" Goers; two brothers, Mark C. "My Son" McGrath and Michael P. "Mikie" McGrath and Jenny Creager; niece, Georgia J. "Toast Head" Goers; nephews, David Austin Goers and Michael B. Lay; girl friend, Diana L. Vendresca; uncles, Edward Chacon, Ted Chacon, and Tom McGrath of New York; great-uncle, Fred McGrath of Albuquerque; and other uncles, aunts, and cousins not mentioned and many friends. All of his grandparents and an uncle, Phillip Chacon are deceased. Joe's mark in this world is that he touched many lives and was loved by many. "The Apple of My Eye" He's the apple of my eye. Born to me without a cry. He's the kid with the funny face, Talks so loud, turns every head in the place. Doctors say that he has Down's Must be the reason he's such a clown. He's the apple of my eye. Born with a heart that is all messed up, Not a reason for him to give up. Operations quite a scare, but the Lord was always there. He's the apple of my eye. He's the baby I named Joe. He's the guy you'll never know. He just stopped to say hello. Many years have gone by and I stopped asking the reason why.
