YATES -- Josephine (Josie) M. Yates, age 75, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, was called home by the Lord, Tuesday, August 7, 2007. She was a resident of Corrales, NM where she was a member of the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura K. Gariss. Josephine is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Don Higginbotham; her children, Leonora Thackeray and husband Richard, Carolyn Waliser, Dale Higginbotham and wife Kathy, Jerry Higginbotham and wife Lynda, Susan Duncan and husband Jim, and Donya Crawford; 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are, her brothers, William and Joe Shoats; other family members and friends. Josephine will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Chapel. A Rosary will be recited Friday at 7:00 p.m. at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at San Ysidro Church. Interment will follow at Corrales Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mario Chavez, Dale Higginbotham, Jerry Higginbotham, Shawn Gariss, Phillip Sena, and Jory Higginbotham.
