BOWERS -- Marie Bowers, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007. She is survived by her son, Darrell Bowers and wife, Petra of Albuquerque; niece, Mary Ann Barnett of Albuquerque; and nephews, Eugene Slipek of Albuquerque and Glen Slipek of Arizona. Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Elmer Bowers; daughter, Sharon Mark; her twin sister, Martha Slipek; sisters, Lydia Kutzleb and Luella Mueller; and brothers, Martin, Herman and Otto Holtz. She was born in Dundee, Illinois on March 6, 1914. She went through grades 1-8 at Immanuel Lutheran School in Dundee and then she graduated from Dundee Community High School in 1932. Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church all her life and was active in the Ladies Aid, The Good Shepherd Home Auxiliary, and the Trapp Fund. She enjoyed bringing flowers to church every week for church beautification, visiting the sick, helping out wherever she could, and also loved bowling. Services will be held Friday, June 22, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 Gold SE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
