SIMMONS -- Ofelia Savedra Simmons, loving mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin, met her peace on Monday, June 11, 2007. She will be remembered as a loving and caring person to everyone she came into contact with. Her grandchildren affectionately called her Gramms and she was known as Phyllis to her friends. Her joy in life was having her family together. She worked hard in life and is now at Peace with her Lord. Ofelia was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Simmons Sr.; father, Andres Savedra; mother, Guadalupe Savedra; sisters, Rosie and Shella; and brother, Joe. She is survived by son, Earl Simmons Jr.; grandchildren, Gary A. Simmons, Earl A. Simmons III, and Alyssa G. Simmons; four brothers, Arthur Savedra; Victor Savedra and wife, Nattie, Ruben Savedra and wife, Isabel, and Albert Savedra and wife, Dorothy, and their families. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Visitation for Mrs. Simmons will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007 also at Holy Family Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Gary Simmons, Michael Savedra, Sammy Abeyta, Paul Savedra, Earl Simmons III, and Joey Savedra.
