CANDELARIA -- Julian I. Candelaria, age 86, was called to his Lord on June 11, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on November 14, 1920 to Desiderio and Rosenda Candelaria in Manzano, NM. A veteran of WWII, Julian served in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic Pacific. Julian married Jessie Baca in August of 1950 and shortly thereafter they moved to Mexico where he worked for "AFTOSA" and administered vaccinations for livestock. They returned to the United States in 1951 after which Julian worked for the IRS for over 30 years and retired in 1981. He was affectionately known to his coworkers as "Candy". He is survived by his four children, Pablo T. Candelaria, Sally C. Wehling, Regina MacKenzie and husband, John M. MacKenzie and Antonio M. Candelaria; five grandchildren, Emma J. Wehling, Alice T. Wehling, Malcolm E. MacKenzie, Madeline M. MacKenzie, and Julian B. MacKenzie; his sister-in-law, Juanita Candelaria; and by two brothers-in-law, Charlie Baca and Refugio Baca. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jessie B. Candelaria in February of 2000 and by his brothers; Eleno Candelaria and Erminio Candelaria. The Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007, 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be John McKenzie, Malcolm MacKenzie, Refugio Baca, Charlie Baca, Mario Candelaria and Arturo Archuleta. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
