MCVAY -- Julia C. McVay, 90, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed from this life, at home with her family, to be with her Lord and Savior, May 15, 2007. She was born Julia Chavez on November 13, 1916 in Magdalena, NM to a pioneering New Mexican family. Throughout Julia's blessed life, she was a devout Christian and had complete trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. She enjoyed gardening and baking. She was an avid seamstress, hymn writer, organist, and guitarist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McVay, and her daughter, Joyce Dees. Julia is survived by her loving daughter, Judith Seligman; her granddaughter and husband, Lissa and Joe Guzman; her granddaughter, Kristen Robinson; her granddaughter and husband, Sheri and Richard Leger; and her grandsons, Tommy Montoya and David Lovato; her great-granddaughter and husband, Ashley and Jacob Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Tazianne Gomez Leger, Richie Leger Jr., Tristan Leger, and Trey Leger. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 21, 2007, 2 p.m. at Aspen Funeral Alternatives, located at 1935 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. The family wishes to thank the staff of Amber Care Hospice, and special thanks to her Nurse, Kenny Dean and Nurse's Assistant, Fatima Ceballos.
