DURAN -- Mary O. Duran, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for over 60 years, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Las Palomas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness. She is survived by her children, William Duran and wife, Susan, Gloria Inlow and husband, Rush, Linda Davis and husband, Rex, Steve Duran and wife, Geneva, Nancy Jackson and husband, A.J., Jeanette Vanderhyde and husband, Jay; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Casey Duran; sisters, Ida Garcia and Bessie Lopez; and numerous other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Duran in 1995; and nine brothers and sisters. She was born August 22, 1921 in Duran, NM. She was the daughter of the late Dionicio and Mary Duran. Mary was living in Vaughn, NM where she met her husband and married, when he returned from military duty during WWII. They moved to Albuquerque in the late 1940s, where they lived the remainder of their lives. She dedicated her life to rearing her six children and caring for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was always a center of family activity.
