MONTOYA -- Erlinda Montoya, started her life's journey, March 7, 1925 in Bosque, NM, born to Melquiades and Emilia Lovato. Erlinda was welcomed into God's tender loving hands March 19, 2007 during the calm hours of the night. Erlinda's husband, Herman, who preceded her into God's Kingdom of Grace, was surely at the gates joyously awaiting Erlinda's arrival. Erlinda was a devoted, dedicated, and loving wife of 57 years. Erlinda's treasured, clean, courageous soul was commended into God's eternal Love surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted mother of three loving children: her son, Herman F. Montoya and Rose Garcia; her daughters, Gloria Sanchez and husband, John, Roseann Apodaca and husband, Ralph. She was proudly the grandmother of 12 grandchildren, Denise Kean and husband, Jack, Adam Montoya and wife, Jeannie, Charlotte Willis and husband, Rob, Amy Fonseca and her husband, Joe, Lilliana Sanchez, Lisa Sanchez, Christopher Apodaca, Aaron Apodaca and his wife, Lexie, Timmany, Brittny, Amber and Cameron Apodaca. Erlinda has 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jonathan, Jason, Jordan, Hailea, Kaden, Andrew, Josh and Alyssa, Asher, and Haylee. Erlinda was a family centered soul who lived to see one Great-Great grandchild Jamie. Naya Williams was Erlinda's best friend. Erlinda was the daughter of a farmer. She came from a family of nine children, of which Emily, Molly, Nash, and Priscilla were with her before God called her home. Emilia, Erlinda's mother ,was a dignified wife, mother, and homemaker who taught Erlinda the value of a family centered life with dedication to God. As a young lady Erlinda was an avid basketball player and off the court was a sophisticated lady who loved to dance with a big beautiful smile, who was humbly intelligent. Once married, she became a homemaker with God always in her thoughts, words and actions, unselfishly caring for others needs. Erlinda would help anybody in need. Erlinda made a house a home. Her home was always full of love, God, family, delicious smells, laughter, music and cheerful sounds of life being lived to the fullest. "Erlinda, that sparkle in your eyes will always be remembered and you will be greatly missed by so many." Visitations will be held on Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Internment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be: Adam Montoya, Jonathan Kean, Andrew Willis, Joe Fonseca, Christopher Apodaca, and Aaron Apodaca.
