CHAVEZ -- Frank S. Chavez Jr. died at his home in Albuquerque, January 17, 2007. He was born in Yeso, NM, on May 21, 1927. Frank served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was employed by RCA in California for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Chavez, Sr. Frank is survived by his mother, Lola Chavez; his sisters, Emma Lucero and husband, Elijio, Lou Archuleta and husband, Joe Ed, Albertina Chavez, Juanita Pino and husband, Nick, and Oralia Chavez; his brothers, Alfonso Chavez and wife, Maggie, and Tito Chavez and wife, Eileen; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, in Palm Chapel, at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2007. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Monday, January 29, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., located on the corner of Lomas and Tennessee NE. Pallbearers include Rick Sanchez, Gary Archuleta, Ernest Lucero, Paula Mascarenas, Arnold Chavez, and Freddie Chavez. Burial will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. following the church ceremony. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, 505-842-8800.
