GARCIA -- Abelardo Garcia, 92, a resident of Canjilon, NM passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2006. Abelardo was born March 22, 1914 the son of Maximillano and Sara Lovato Garcia in Coyote, New Mexico. He had been a Forestry Technician for the U S Forest Service before he retired. Abelardo was preceded in death by his wife, Rosaura; sons, Napoleon and Augustine; and grandson, Leroy Kenneth Garcia; and two sisters; and five brothers. He is survived by daughters, Eulemia Atencio and husband, Issac, Rosaura Marquez and husband, Jessie, Rebecca Leyba and husband, Joe R. and Eloisa Morales and husband, Jimmy; sons, Leroy Garcia and wife, Cindy, Ernesto Garcia and wife, Geraldine, and Danny Garcia and wife, Velma; 32 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, December 19, 2006 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at the San Juan de Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon, NM. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Juan de Nepomuceno Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Canjilon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Atencio, James Leyba, Francisco Garcia, Ernesto Garcia, Jr., Dwight Morales, Daniel Richard Garcia, Matthew Garcia, and Daniel Jacob Garcia.
