TANZOLA -- James Roger Tanzola, 60, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with our Lord, Thursday, December 14, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Karen Tanzola of the family home; children, Brian James Tanzola and wife, Hillary and their children, Trevor James and Gavin Scott; Adam Spencer Tanzola and son, Braiden James, both of Austin, TX; brother, John Tanzola; and sister, Valeri Plagens, both of Texas; and step-children, Kevin McCreary of Riverside, CA, Sue Wasson of Albuquerque and Michael McCreary of Norman, OK. James was an Air Force Captain serving in Vietnam, where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He was an alumni of General Motors Institute with a BA in Mechanical Engineering and also UNM with a BA and MA in Computer Science. James served in the Civil Air Patrol, a member of Lamda Chi Fraternity, 30 years a friend of Bill W., and a member of Central United Methodist Church. James had a collection and was known as "The Winnie the Poohman." He was a manager at Electronics Clearing House and supported many local charities. James was greatly loved and will be missed by family and friends. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saranam Program for Homeless Families, 1000 Eubank NE, Suite C, Albuquerque, NM 87112.
