LOONEY -- Joseph W. Looney, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2006. He was born July 30, 1926 in Floydada, TX to Joseph P. and Lillie Mae Looney. Mr. Looney married Patricia Aragon on February 18, 1951. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Looney of Albuquerque; children, Mary Wilson and husband, Steve of Kansas City, KS, Alma Dowless of Albuquerque, Joseph P. Looney and wife, Kathy of Peralta, Jeanette Barr and husband, Nick of Westminster, CO; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, Justin, Alan, Patrick, Robyn, Jake, Tammy, and Chris; brothers, Edward "Pete" Looney and wife, Alice and Lynn Looney and wife, Marilynn; sister-in-law, Maxine Looney; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, brothers- and sisters-in-law. Mr. Looney was preceded in death by his brother, Ervin Looney in 1978. He was employed for many years as a truck driver and dock worker for I.C.X. retiring after 32 years of employment. He also was a well known string musician who played with many bands in the local area including some well known celebrities and had an opportunity to play the banjo in the movie release City Slickers in 1991. Services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2006, 9:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
