ERICKSON -- DONN W. Col. Donn W. Erickson, 76 passed away December 11, 2006. Donn was born in Mankato, Minnesota and lived in Albuquerque since the early '60s. He is survived by his wife of 16 1/2 years Mary D. Erickson; 3 children, Lynn Berns and husband, RJ and their children, Laura and Raymond Berns of Colorado Springs, CO, Jeff Erickson and wife, Diane of San Diego, CA, Laurie Fitzgerald and husband, Tom of Albuquerque; 3 step-children Tim Gantick and wife, Sandra of Murphy, TX and their 3 children, Jason Gantick and wife, Brianne of Herndon, VA, John D. Gantick of Comfot, TX and Nicholas Gantick of Las Cruces, Monica Winton of Albuquerque and her daughters, Shaunna Winton of Seattle, WA and Ashlynne Winton of Albuquerque, Aaron Gantick and wife, Lucy and their daughter, Jessica and Ericka Gantick of El Paso, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Irene Erickson of St. Peter, MN. Donn in his younger years played a lot of basketball, golf and tennis. He served in the Air Force on Active and or Air National Guard for 30 years. He also worked for Civil Service for 39 years and retired from the National Weather Service as a Meteorologist in 1990. He deeply loved ballroom dancing, TV sports and duplicate bridge. For the past 24 years he belonged to the American Contract Bridge League and Duke City Bridge Club. He was a Gold Life Master. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Services will be held on Friday, 10:00 a.m., at First Christian Church, 10101 Montgomery NE, with Errol Stepp, Minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Aaron Gantick, Jason Gantick, John Gantick, Nicholas Gantick, Tim Gantick, and Bobby Winton. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel (505) 823-9400
