CLARK -- M. Corinne "Corky" Clark, 83, died on Saturday, December 2, 2006. A resident of Albuquerque since 1988, she is survived by Kate Vonderau, a longtime friend; nephew and nieces, Robert W. Fowler and wife, Terri, Jeanne Fowler, Elizabeth Ann Krumrey and husband, William, Christina M. Wiedeman and husband, Roger; and many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Clark Fowler. Born on September 28, 1923, in Ottawa, IL, Corky loved life and lived it to its fullest. She served her country as a member of the WAVES during World War II. She played baseball in the All American Girls Professional Baseball League in 1947. Corky held leadership roles in physical education associations culminating in a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin in Whitewater for 20 years. A golfer since childhood, Corky was involved in women's amateur golf in NM since 1988. The Albuquerque Women's Golf Championship each year recognizes her contribution with the Corky Clark Cup presentation to the tournament champion. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Christ the Ray of Hope Lutheran Church, 7001 San Antonio NE. Interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Corky Clark Jr. Golf Foundation, 288 Prairie Star Road, Santa Ana Pueblo, 87004 or the UW-Whitewater Foundation, Vonderau/Clark Scholarship, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Whitewater, WI 53190.
