PONGETTI -- Anthony Pongetti, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho and Albuquerque, passed away on October 28, 2006. He will be missed by his many relatives and friends. Tony was born in Shelby, MS, on October 4, 1942. He is survived by his cherished wife, Vicki Bachechi and her family: sister, Lorna and her husband, Bill Holloway; nieces, Tammy Holloway and her partner, Cindy Ryder, Kelly Holloway, and Debby and her husband, Ronnie Price and their sons, Eric and Nicholas; and Tony's family: sisters, Lillian Pongetti and Delores Pongetti; brothers, Adam Pongetti, Raymond Pongetti and wife, Mitzi, Robert Pongetti and wife, Dorothea, and J. Victor Pongetti and wife, Rita; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Pringle and brother, Charles Pongetti. Tony was a graduate of the University of Mississippi where he majored in accounting. Tony served four years as a Captain in the United States Air Force during The Vietnam War. His service included two tours of duty, one in Italy and one in Thailand. He worked twenty years for the National Credit Union Administration as an examiner and later as an Economic Specialist traveling extensively to help small credit unions that needed his specialized assistance. Tony loved the outdoors. He hunted, fished, and nurtured all wildlife especially creatures and birds in his own backyard. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd., Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in his name to Share with Wildlife, NM Dept. of Game and Fish, P.O. Box 25112, Santa Fe, NM 87504.
