BERNOLA -- Vivian Rae Bernola, 76, known as Bunny or Drees to those who knew and loved her, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2006. Bunny was born December 12, 1929 in Des Moines, NM, the daughter of James F. and Sallie Baker Thornton. She was the youngest of 13. A fun-loving sister, she enjoyed being surrounded with family and friends. Bunny worked for several years at Los Alamos National Lab and later in life as a proof reader for court reporting firms. Full of life and laughter, everyone from co worker to neighbors loved Bunny. Her wit, charm and easy going manner made her a favorite friend and relative to many. She appreciated simple pleasures and saw the humor in every of life's situations. She will be truly missed - her character was unique and her personality a product of a life lived with quiet dignity and happy times. Bunny is survived by her sister, Alta; son, Stephen Erik; daughter, Janet Lynn; and grandchildren, Kelly, A.J., Erik, Simon, and Zachary; and many members of an extended family. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho.
