PADILLA -- Anastacio T. Padilla, born April 22, 1925, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006 in Albuquerque at the age of 81. Mr. Padilla was an Army veteran and served during World War II. He was preceded in death by his children, Bennie Romero, Bill Padilla, and Bonnie Romero. He is survived by his wife, Katie Padilla; siblings, Pete Padilla, Barbara Benavidez, and Antonia Delgado; children, Albino Padilla and wife, Barbara, Susan Monteczuma and husband, Reynaldo, Victor Padilla, Irene Serna and husband, Anthony, and Joe Padilla; grandchildren, Joyce, June, Mark, Paul, Adrian, Larry, Jose, Vanessa, Cecilia, Manuel, Dominique, and Jessica; and 24 great-grandchildren. A Rosary for Mr. Padilla will be recited on Wednesday evening, October 4, 2006 at Salazar & Sons Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Ascension Church, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Martinez, Mark Gonzalez, Richard Newman, Michael Newman, Adrian Padilla, and Phillie Gutierrez. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Newman.
