HILL-BODE -- Lillian Agnes Hill-Bode passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2006 from complications due to Parkinson's Disease. She was born on January 3, 1923, the daughter of Genara Borrego and Pleasant Hill in Espanola, NM. She married Karl Martin Bode from Abiquiu at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola on May 22, 1969. She was a graduate of the Espanola High School and after graduation worked as a bookkeeper at the Espanola Mercantile, now known as Cook's Home Center-True Value Hardware. Lillian continued working at Cook's after her marriage and later left there to manage the accounting at Bode's General Merchandise Store in Abiquiu. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Adolph Hill and Feliberto Lucero; and sister, Ida Lucero Roybal, all of Espanola. She is survived by her husband, Karl Bode; nieces: Virginia R. Gonzales of Sombrillo and Marie Alarid of Fairview; nephews: Phil Lucero, Jr. of Espanola and Monsignor Leo Lucero of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Allred of Los Alamos, Gertrude Valles of Martinez, CA, Josephine Merten of Pleasant Hills, CA, Charlotte Paetzold of Hereford, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Special recognition and appreciation is due to Lillian's faithful caregivers throughout the years, and in particular, Patsy Duran and Guadalupe Guzman, whose loving care and unfailing devotion had sustained her until the end. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 at the Santo Tomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Santo Tomas Catholic Church with Monsignor Leo Lucero and Rev. Vincent Dominguez officiating. Burial will follow at the Abiquiu Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Joseph Merten, Richard Valles, Mark and Kennith Paetzold, Gilbert Gonzales, and James Alarid.
