MAXEY -- Viola June Maxey, 73, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2006. Viola was born December 5, 1932 the daughter of John Oliver and Gladys Alice Statler Gimer in Denver, Colorado. She had been a member of the North Valley community since 1965. Viola had been an Avon Representative since 1982, where she met many special friends. Viola had a passion for flowers that were enjoyed by many. She also had a special gift of making family out of friends. She loved birds, especially hummingbirds, which she hosted every summer. Viola was the most devoted and loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest passion in life was taking care of her family. Viola was preceded in death by one son, Gordon Ray. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Maxey; children, John, Ada and husband, Kenneth, Ralph and wife, JoAnn, Gloria and husband, Loren, Karen and husband, Bill, Alice and husband, Steve, Terry and wife, Amor, Gail and husband Robert, Freda and husband James, Thelma and husband, Charles, Nona and husband, Ray, Carol and husband, Miki, Joey, Rosa and husband, Bud, and Catherine and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Johnny, Paul, Dawn, Robbi, Patrick, Norman, Chris, Kenny, JoAnn, Deijon, Amber, Elizabeth, Heather, Lance, Amanda, Christine, Jamie, Audrey, Kelly, Elora, Archie, Echo, Joshua, Tiffany, Joey, Shelly, Cheryl, Joni, Julie, and David; seventeen great grandchildren; and by many special friends. A Memorial Service for Viola will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 5:30 PM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho.
