ANAYA -- Robert H. Anaya, age 84, went to be with the Lord, Friday, July 7, 2006. He will be dearly missed and loved by everyone who knew him. Robert is survived by his son, R. Jerry Anaya; daughter, Lydia Anaya and longtime companion, Marie Alvarez; brother, Sito Anaya; sisters, Lucy Anaya and Sela Saavedra; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved and will miss him. Robert served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. His decorations and citations included the American Theater, Asiatic Pacific Theater and the Philippine Liberation. His service ribbons include the Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Unit Award. Robert also served as Justice of the Peace and Active Shareholder with Westland Development Company (Atrisco Land Grant Company). Services and Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW. A Visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, followed by the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with U.S. Army Honors. Pallbearers include Ralph Montoya, Junior Saavedra, Steve Herrera, Mark Romero, JR Benavidez, and Beltran Chavez.
