LAFOREST -- Ida Giomi LaForest, 84, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday June 28, 2006. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Esma Giomi; niece, Dr. Thelma Giomi; cousins, Anna Machemehl and husband, Chuck, and Paul Viviani. Mrs. LaForest was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elvira Giomi; brother, James Giomi; and niece, Debra Giomi. She had attended St. Mary's High School but graduated from Albuquerque High School. Prior to her marriage, Miss Giomi worked for the Army Corps of Engineers. Mrs. LaForest was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, on Lomas at Tennessee NE, with Father E. C. Domme celebrant. Friends visited French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Friday, June 30, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Should friends desire, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl.
