ZAMORA -- Pete A. Zamora, 87, passed away May 30, 2006. Formerly from Socorro, NM, he was born in Kelly, NM June 18, 1918. Mr. Zamora served in the United States Army 1st Cavalry Division from 1942 to 1946 Southwest Pacific Arena during WWII and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign and the Philippine Liberation. After 37 years of service he retired from Kirkland Air Force Base as a Security Guard and was a life member of V.F.W Post 401. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; daughter, Mary Ann Romero and husband, Rudy; granddaughter, Yvonne Dion and husband, Eric; two great-grandchildren, Van and Ella; grandson, Christopher Romero and fiancee, Amber. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was very dedicated to his family. A Rosary will be recited Friday, June 2, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Our Lady of Assumption Church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006.
