COOPER -- Vera C. Cooper, 74, passed away peacefully on May Sunday 7, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on July 20, 1931 to Thomas and Mary (Harrell) Smith in Mankins, TX. Vera was a loving wife and mother to her three children and her two grandchildren, her love will never die, but she will always be remembered for her open and loving arms. Her greatest joys in life were her granddaughters. Vera is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert; her children, Randy Cooper and wife, Sheryl of Bloomfield, NM and Robert Lee Cooper of San Diego, CA; two granddaughters; Randi Cooper of Farmington, NM and Korrie Cooper of Las Cruces, NM; her brother, Alvin W. Smith and wife, Sandy of North Richland Hills, TX; sisters, Louise Green of Wichita Falls, TX and Clytia Lackey of Schaumburg, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Vera was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon A. Gonzales. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at Bernalillo United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Komatz officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM at a later date.
