BOLAND -- SISTER JOACHIM BOLAND, C.S.J. (Mary Josephine Boland), a beloved member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, MA for 70 years, and of the Bethany Healthcare Community in Framingham, MA, died Thursday April 27, 2006 at Bethany Healthcare Center, Framingham. Daughter of the late William T. and Mary J. (Downes) Boland, she was a teacher formerly missioned at St. Columbkille, Brighton, MA; St. Catherine, Norwood, MA; Our Lady of Grace, Chelsea, MA; a teacher and principal at St. Rose in Santa Rosa, NM. She was also a guidance counselor in Roxbury Catholic Schools, Boston; Director of Personnel, Motherhouse, Brighton; and Prison Ministry in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She is the sister of the late Rose West, Alice Donnelly, William Boland, O.F.M., Dorothy and Thomas Boland. Visiting hours at St. Joseph Hall, 93 Bethany Rd. Framingham, will be Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 - 7 p.m. A Vigil Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham. Prayers of Final Commendation will be Tuesday evening following the Funeral Mass. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham, MA 01702.
