FEIL -- Edward I. Feil, of Santa Fe, passed away suddenly April 16, 2006. Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 15, 1942. He was a resident of Albuquerque from 1981 until 2000 during which time he was chairman of the Department of Orthopedics at Lovelace Medical Center. He is survived by his adoring wife of 40 years, Susan; son, Matthew of New York City; daughter, Alicia of Albuquerque; parents: Seymour and Yvette Feil; sisters: Gloria Turetz and husband, Dr. Frank Turetz, and Joanne Feil, all of New York; brother-in-law, Roger Cohen and wife, Janet, of Virginia; nieces: Dr. Meredith Turetz, Jennifer Bernabeu and her husband, Sean; nephews: Daniel and Brian Cohen and Kevin Secunda. Edward was educated at the Cleveland Clinic and was Lord Nuffield Scholar in Oxford England prior to two year's military service during Vietnam. He also earned a MBA in order to better serve in his administrative capacity, while continuing a complete operating schedule. Edward retired in 2000 due to a physical condition and was completing a two year program in integrative medicine and was due to go back into active practice in the coming months. He was well-loved by all of his patients and well-respected by all in the medical community. He was a member of the Temple B'nai Israel in Albuquerque for 24 years and a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Santa Fe since 2000. Service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006, 9:30 a.m. at Temple Beth Shalom, 208 East Barcelona, Santa Fe. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
