MCGILL -- Marita Egbert McGill, 84, died Saturday, April 15, 2006 after suffering from pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Col. (Ret.) Allen K. McGill; children, Greg and Kris and grandchildren, Gerritt and Hannah. She supported her husband as homemaker for his 32-year Air Force career. Marita served as Vice-President and Buyer of Egbert's, a furniture and accessory store in Seattle, WA for another 30 years. Hers was a life of adventure. As an Air Force wife, she lived in all parts of the United States. As the Buyer for Egbert's, she traveled world-wide visiting Europe and North Africa repeatedly. In 2001 she and her husband moved to Albuquerque to be near family. She always strove to make a good home for her family. In her last days, she was blessed with special peace and freedom from pain. Marita's remains will eventually be returned to her birthplace, West Jersey, in rural Illinois.
