RIVERA -- Manuel Rivera, Sr., 87, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1985, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Manuel was born November 9, 1918 the son of Jose and Maria Morena Rivera in Pueblo, Colorado. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II; was a postman for 25 years; and after he retired from the postal service, he had his own business as a handyman and was kept very busy! Manuel was also a Deacon in the First Baptist of Alameda; drove the church bus, and also drove the school bus for the public schools. Manuel was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, Antonio Rivera, Patricia Rivera, Frances Rivera, Cecilia Porras, and Sam Rivera. He is survived by his wife, Adela Crusita Rivera; two daughters, Sylvia Rivera of Albuquerque, and Marcella Justinich of California; one sister, Carmen Ortega of Grand Island, NE; three grandchildren, Stephanie Zamora and husband John of Albuquerque, Kimberly Justin of California, and Salina Hipkins of California; and four great grandchildren, Jacob, Juaquin, Sonya, and Sadie. A Memorial Service for Manuel will be held on Monday, April 17, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Innichment will take place in the Floral Garden Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park.
