TAPIA -- Emma Eve Tapia, 61, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2006. She is survived by her parents, Arturo and Hortencia Montes and loving sisters and brothers, Lupe Gonzales, Edna Rapp, Blanca Diaz, Martha Alarcon, Ralph Montes, and Ramon Montes; her children to whom she dedicated her life, Andrew Rivera, Christopher Tapia, Ruby Tapia and DeAnna Tapia; seven grandchildren and innumerable friends who were fortunate enough to be touched by her kind spirit. Emma's best friends included Teresa Tapia and Joyce Reszka. Emma was a graduate of Austin High School in El Paso, Texas. She moved to Albuquerque as a young adult and built her family with her beloved husband, Emilio Tapia, who preceded her in death during this Easter season 18 years ago. Although Emma worked outside of the home occasionally, most recently at Coca-Cola, she devoted most of her life as a wife to her husband and mother to her children. Emma ("Mom") taught her children life's most valuable lessons including respect for others, unconditional love of family, and perseverance in difficult times. An angel to all those who came to know her, she will be deeply and truly missed. Emma's children wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her sisters, Edna and Lupe, who gave so unselfishly of themselves to care for and comfort Emma during her most difficult last days. Those wishing to pay their private respects to Emma may do so Monday, April 17, 2006 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Boulevard NE. Rosary will be recited Monday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE with Deacon Paul Levebre reciting. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Church. Pallbearers honored to escort Emma will be Christopher Tapia, Andrew Rivera, Emilio Tapia Jr., Ralph Montes, Ramon Montes, Steven Maestas, Maurice Stevens and NCC(SW) Scott L. Reszka. Following the Mass, Emma will be laid in her final resting place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
