KOSKOVICH -- Charles Joseph Charles Joseph Koskovich passed away at his home on Thursday, April 6, 2006. Chuck was born on June 12, 1930 and raised in Canton, Ohio. He was the first son of Joseph and Catherine Koskovich who immigrated to Ohio from Zagreb, Yugoslavia in 1929. Chuck graduated from Timkin High School in Canton in 1948. He moved to Albuquerque to attend the University of New Mexico on a football scholarship. Chuck was the quarterback for UNM's 1952 National Defensive Championship team. At UNM he met the love of his life, Judy Hubbard Koskovich. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November, 2004. Together they had four children, Kathy Koskovich Cleveland, wife of Scott Cleveland of Boise, Idaho, Mark Stephen Koskovich, husband of Lisa Ronningen Koskovich of Plano, Texas, William Joseph Koskovich, husband of Michelle Garcia Koskovich of Denver, Colorado and Gregory James Koskovich, husband of Barbie Burgett Koskovich of Phoenix, Arizona. Chuck was the grandfather of Mark's sons, Kevin Charles Koskovich and Christopher Robert Koskovich and Greg's daughter, Karli Bree Koskovich. He is also survived by his brothers George and Paul Koskovich; and sisters Anne Colangelo and Mary Aman. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brothers, John and Stephen Koskovich. Chuck retired from the Department of Energy in 1996 and enjoyed his retirement volunteering at the UNM Athletic Department and the Heart Hospital and traveling around the world. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2006 and Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at John XXIII Catholic Community Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge Drive, Albuquerque, NM. Burial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Gate of Heaven, 7999 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Chuck's name to the New Mexico Lobo Club, Dept. of Athletics, MSC04 2680, 1 University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM 87131.
