BLAKE -- Arthur W. Blake, Jr., 85, born August 18, 1920 in Superior, Wisconsin, passed away April 7, 2006. He was a long time resident of Albuquerque where he lived with his wife of over 60 years, Zola. He was preceded in death by his parents Hazel G. Blake and Arthur W. Blake and brother, Robert L. Blake. Art served in WWII as an aerial radar and radio operator aboard PBY amphibious rescue planes in Alaska, the Aleutian Islands, Saipan, and Iwo Jima. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery while rescuing two downed pilots in the Sea of Japan. Following the War, he graduated from Gustavas Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. He was employed by the United States Secret Service for 25 years, spanning five presidents beginning with the Eisenhower administration. He is survived by his wife Zola, his brother Bruce of Sioux Falls, SD, his son Fritz and his wife Melissa of Albuquerque, his daughter Linda of Denver, grandson James Eck and his wife Juliet, their children, Elizabeth and James, III (Art and Zola's great grandchildren) and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, April 11th at 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd., NE, with Rev.
