GUTIERREZ -- SHIRLEY A. Ms. Shirley A. Gutierrez, 52, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 27, 2006. Shirley is survived by her beloved mother, Edwina Gutierrez; three sisters, Jen Gutierrez, Mela Martinez, Dee Farello and husband, Leonard; nieces and nephews: Theresa Diaz, Salvador Lucero III and wife, Joesphine, Darline Lucero, Mitchell Jakymiw, Ray Gutierrez Jr. and Michael Gutierrez. Many extended family members and friends who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Gutierrez and a brother, Raymond Gutierrez. Shirley worked at Goodwill Industries for ten years. Her hobbies included, dancing, music, swimming and traveling. She traveled to Hawaii, the Bahamas and her favorite places were Disneyland and Disney World. She was a special Olympic Athlete in Gymnastics and spent part of her retirement years at Share Your Care Adult Day Care. Shirley was a member of the Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place and a visitation will be Thursday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Darline Lucero. Final visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE in Rio Rancho, NM with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Stephen Imbarrato. In lieu of flowers donations and contributions may be made to the Albuquerque Gymnastics Special Olympics, 10280 Comanche NE, 87111 in her name.
