SALINAS -- Chonita (Ascencion) Salinas, 81, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 22, 2006 surrounded by her family. She was born to Juan Andres and Fabiana Lopez in San Acacia, NM on July 21, 1924. Chonita will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 49 years, Reynaldo; her children, Joanna Salinas, Hilario Salinas, Jeannette and Michael Parros, Juan Andres Salinas, and Tobias Salinas; grandchildren, Maria Salinas, Dominique Parros, Samuel Parros, and Austen Parros; a sister, Juanita Zamora; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Santiago Lopez. Chonita was a long-time member of Our Lady of Fatima's Ladies Auxillary. One of her many loves was cooking and hosting holiday dinners. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a doting grandmother, Chonita will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Celebrant, Father Frances X. Eggert. Interment will follow at Nuestra Senora De Los Dolores in Milagro, NM.
