MUELLER -- Glorya Helene Mueller died peacefully at her home in Corrales, NM on March 19, 2006, surrounded by family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Joachim Mueller and the dearly-loved mother of Stefan Mueller and Lauren Mueller-Skinner. In addition to her children, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan; son-in-law, Chas; cherished grandchildren, Claire Nicole and Jackson; brother- and sister-in-law, George and Beverly Mueller; niece, Inge Munnings; and nephews, Gregg Mueller and Peter John Lindner. She also leaves behind many, many close friends, both old and new. A vibrant and creative woman, she lived an extraordinary life. She was born in Buffalo, NY, moving to Rochester to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology where she met her husband, Joach and began a modeling career that would take her to New York City. She and Joach married in 1956 and briefly lived in Albuquerque before traveling throughout Europe. They eventually returned to Rochester to live and raise their family. Glorya had a lifelong passion for gardening and was active in Rochester politics and area preservation. She ran the Oxford Gallery in Rochester for many years with her friend and business partner Edith Shedden. In 1987 she and Joach moved to Corrales where she continued her involvement in art through her association with the Blue Gate Gallery in Old Town Albuquerque. In 1990, Glorya and Joachim created La Mimosa Bed & Breakfast in Corrales, a beautiful adobe inn filled with art and sculpture and surrounded by extraordinary landscaping and gardens in the heart of the village. The family thanks everyone for their love and affection. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the June Music Festival, NMSO, or Presbyterian Hospice in Albuquerque.
