LEARY -- William Edward "Bill" Leary, MSgt., USAF, Ret.,76, a resident of Rio Rancho since 2004, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2006 at home with his wife, daughters, son, and granddaughter at his side. Bill was born November 19, 1929 the son of Francis Patrick and Viola Elisabeth Doherty Leary in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He had served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, and had been an Air Traffic Controller before retiring. Bill and Chris came to New Mexico from Florida. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will always be loved, remembered and missed by all who knew him. Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Leary and Margaret Tobin. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Chris, of the family home; son, Tadd Leary and wife Annette of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Maria Daz and husband Matt of Ilion, NY; and the sunshine of his life, granddaughter, Amber Daz of Long Beach, NY; and one brother, John "Jack" Leary of Lexington, MA. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, Hospice, P.O. Box 26666, Albuquerque, NM 87125.
