YARNELL -- Hazel Helen Yarnell, age 81, passed away on February 21, 2006 after a brief battle with pneumonia. Hazel is survived by her husband of 54 years, John L. Yarnell; daughter, Barbara Yarnell and her husband, David Barsness and their son, Eric; daughter, Ann Yarnell; son, Tom Yarnell and his wife, Vivian and children, Lindsey and Katie; and youngest daughter, Martha Yarnell. Hazel was born in Plattlake, Minnesota. She graduated from Hector, MN High School. Hazel went on to obtain an RN degree from the Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. She then obtained a BSN from the University of Minnesota in Nursing Education. Hazel met John at the University of Minnesota and later married him on September 27, 1952. Hazel and John moved to Los Alamos in 1952 to begin their lifelong adventure. Hazel will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend. She was a free spirit whose loving and compassionate nature is evidenced in the relationships she had with family and friends. Hazel's lifelong love of the game bridge resulted in her obtaining a Life Master status in duplicate bridge. The memorial service for Hazel will be held on February 24, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Los Alamos, NM.
