NELSON -- Homer B. Nelson, 90, of Hobbs, NM, passed away Monday, February 13, 2006 in a local nursing home. Services will be held at 3: 00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2006 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Mr. Nelson was born on January 10, 1916 in Anson, KS to Ira D. and Myrtle Bebb Nelson. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Nelson moved to Hobbs in 1992 from Ruidoso and attended St. Paul's Methodist Church. He also lived in Albuquerque and was a cabinet maker with Acme Countertop. Survivors include his grandson, Kenneth Kearney of Hobbs; great-grandsons, Clay and Jay Kearney of Las Cruces, Travis McCormick of Albuquerque, and Troy McCormick of Hobbs; and a nephew, Dr. Roger Collins of Oklahoma City, OK. Griffin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
