CHAVEZ -- Arturo Chavez, 81, beloved husband to Emelda; loving father to Manuel and Eliza, Phillip and Lupe, James and Katie, Frances and Florentino, Sadie and Jaime, Richard and Dorothy, Alfred and Kathy, Sophie and Nestor, Steve, and Arthur Jr. and Rose; adored grandfather to 32 and great-grandfather to 15; dearest brother to Lumina Salazar and Vivian Chavez. He was preceded in death by son, Michael and grandson, Anthony, and joining his family of nine brothers and sisters. A viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in San Jose De Los Duranes Catholic Church, 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW with Msgr. Leo Lucero celebrant. Interment will follow in the Peralta Cemetery with Arthur Chavez Jr., Paul Chavez Jr., Christopher Chavez, Manuel Chavez Jr., Steven Chavez, Daniel Chavez, and Joshua Lovato serving as casket bearers.
