MARTINEZ -- Adelaido S. Martinez was born in Alcalde, NM on May 18, 1931. He graduated from McCurdy High School. Adelaido served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, upon completion of his tour of duty he returned to Santa Fe and began what resulted in a 30 year career with the State Penitentiary. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nora Martinez; brother, Floyd Martinez; sister, Gaby Villarea; and brother-in-law, Patlorraine Villareal. He is survived by his son, Ray Martinez and companion, Laura of Albuquerque; daughter, Cindy Jaramillo and husband, Dan of Santa Fe; grandchildren: Jessica Garrett, Brian, Amanda, Matthew Martinez, and Kenneth Jaramillo; brother, Joe Martinez, and wife, Concha of San Jose CA; sisters: Dora Martinez of Santa Fe, Olivia Gallegos of Alcalde; brothers-in-law: Lorenzo Lucero of Santa Fe, Phil Chavez of Rio Rancho, Mark Chavez and wife, Lydia of Rio Rancho; sisters-in-law: Maclovia Esquibel and husband, Herk of Rio Rancho, Grace Martinez of Alcalde, Edith Vigil and husband, Alfred of Rio Rancho; special friend, Martha Vigil of Chimayo, NM. Special Thanks to Shirley and Rosie from Gentiva Health Care, Lois, Maria, and Christina from Best Way Home Health Care. Mr. Martinez was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Community, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 2811, Fraternal Order of Police, American Legion and the VFW. He loved music, visiting with friends, the Espanola "Valley", and going back to visit his home town of Alcalde. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel with a Christian Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John Baptist Pastoral Center. The Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 13 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist Pastoral Center with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brian Martinez, Amanda Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Lloyd Vigil, and Peter Gallegos. Honorary Pallbearers: Godsons: Kenneth Jaramilo, Manuel Lucero, and Phillip Vigil.
