RICHTER -- Norma W. Richter, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died January 25, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa O'Neill and husband, Pat of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Meaghan and Sean O'Neill of Albuquerque and Keaton Richter and his mother, Lisa Richter, both of Galveston, TX; and many friends. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Max A. Richter, in 1979 and one son, Keith M. Richter, in 1995. She was born on April 3, 1923 in Yates Center, KS and graduated from high school in Parsons, KS. She graduated from the University of Kansas at Lawrence in 1946 with a BS in Business Administration. She moved to Albuquerque and began work at Kirtland Field and in July 1948 at Sandia Corporation where she worked for four years until she became a mother. On January 31, 1948 she married Max A. Richter. She was very active in her children's and grandchildren's lives up until her death. Norma was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She was an active PEO, having been initiated into Chapter L in Kansas in 1946 and served as president from 1952 to 1953 in Chapter L in New Mexico. Norma was a charter member of Chapter AL in Albuquerque, where she served as President from 1960-1961. She was a charter member of Sombre del Monte Christian Church. Norma was a beloved mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE on Monday, January 30, 2006, 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Litton Logan officiating. Private Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Norma's name to the charity of your choice.
